Doctor's Bile: Outsourcing

You should know, health minister has the best interests of ailing public in mind aka patients. What he and his co-ministers or his govt implies that the govt is thoroughly incapable of running two medical colleges. They don't have the funds. As simple as that. The funds are required for their entourage, perks, accommodation etc which are essential of course otherwise how will these public servants tend to the needs of ordinary men and women who need employment and patient care? Those of you who are whining and yelping like stray puppies expressing their protest against outsourcing should know that health minister and associated bureaucrats have given it a deep thought. They are so experienced after years and years of public service that they can take unilateral decision without consulting faculty of both the medical colleges. I really do believe that these harbingers of public good are geniuses, long wished by the public and enthusiastic private health companies who have been spending sleepless nights waiting for an opportunity to serve the public. The zeal is such that they are going to charge far less for medical college patients compared to that of patients who come to them through private establishments and that my friends, is called corporate sacrifice. Not everyone and every company is capable of that. Of course, the govt doctors working in the medical colleges can concentrate on teaching once freed of the burden of providing lab services. And therein lies that govt's solution for improving education. I am sure minor details like, absence of teaching material once the outsourcing kicks in, will be taken care of in ways my limited mind cannot imagine. I am sure, health minister and his dedicated team are aware of a discipline called "laboratory medicine", a separate department in which one can do postgraduation in a place like AIIMS. And I would share their view as to how much unimportant is the said field. After all it is just a bunch of automated machines and people working who just have to push buttons and behold printed results are given to the patients. Research....oh yea...that is something we indians don't have to do. We just need to copy it off of someone spending time in this worthless pursuit in the west. And of course, the students training for a career in laboratory services can work on contract in private labs. Health minister thinks rightly that we have discovered everything that needs to be and hence we don't need more research. And who cares of biochemistry, microbiology and pathology departments. We will just train the students at govt subsidized colleges and direct them to the MNCs running lab services in medical colleges.
Congrats Government!
